Nathan and Taryn Dirks work in Gaborone, Botswana, with youth and young adults from local African Initiated Churches (AICs). Their focus is on community development and Bible teaching. Through their local partnerships they volunteer in local prisons, a school for special needs children, and coordinate development projects in urban agriculture and sports. The Friesens have been with Wycliffe Bible Translators for 14 years; they returned to Canada last year from Togo. Discerning the Lord’s will for their future, they are preparing to return to “the field” in 2011, with their youngest son, Michael.
Wycliffe Bible Translators are working to translate the Bible into languages of peoples around the world. Presently, there are 3,000 people groups without the Bible in their language. That translates into 200 million people without the Word of God.
The need is urgent !
